Mother Earth School - TLC Farm
11640 SW Boones Ferry Road
Portland, OR 97219
The major crossroad North of the farm is Terwilliger Blvd, and South of the farm is Kruse Way in Lake Oswego.
From the Terwilliger Exit
Terwilliger Blvd. is exit 297 off of I5 (just south of downtown Portland). From the Terwilliger exit (coming from either direction on I5) turn right onto Terwilliger Blvd (you will see signs for Lewis & Clark College and Tryon Creek State Park).
At Riverdale High School (on the right), bear right at that traffic light. You will now be on Boones Ferry Rd. (If you reach Lewis & Clark College or the visitor center of Tryon Creek State Park, you have gone too far.) The farm is about a half mile up Boones Ferry on the left. You will see a large wooden sign that says Sturdi-Built Greenhouses on your left and around the next corner there is a small parking area for Tryon Creek State Park on your left.
From the Lake grove area of Lake Oswego
Coming from the south, pass the Mountain Park New Seasons shopping center (many parents know the Hannah Andersson outlet there). Just after you pass through the blinking yellow light at Stephenson Rd, the parking area will be on your right just as you are rounding the next curve in the road. Follow parking directions above.
Parking in this lot is only okay for a limited time. We have an arrangement with the park that this lot is used for pick-up and drop-off only. For longer stays at the farm, as many cars as can fit down the driveway of the farm should do so. The farm driveway is just above the big wooden mailbox. There is a green sign that says Tryon Life Community Farm and a small sign for Mother Earth School next to the sign for the farm so you'll know you are in the right place. Please proceed down the driveway, looking for an open parking space (most likely they will be down by the barn). It is okay to park in front of another car as long as you leave your key in the ignition so that it can be moved if need be. Please do not park in front of the barn, as it is the turn around area.
If there is not space in the TLC Farm driveway, please check in with MES teachers before going back up to the State Park parking lot. There are a couple of parking alternatives, including parking at the main entrance to Tryon Creek State Park (at the nature center) and walking to the farm (it is about a 15 minute walk – the farm is on the West Horse Loop) or parking in the New Seasons parking lot at the top of Boones Ferry Rd. and shuttling down to the farm.
Please do not leave valuables visible in your car when parking in the state park parking lot. Always lock your car unless you park in TLC's driveway.
